    GOOD bike shops?? where??

Im not talking gas powered bikes here, the old school ones that you peddle.

Im looking to pick up a bike and have been to a few bike shops that all sucked. No inventory, nothing really to test out, ect...

who knows some good bike shops with some real inventory that carry bikes for the average person? Giants, ect...

mike go to that one on the bike path in your town, my sister and pops got some bad ass giant mountain bikes with all sorts of neat shit for 400 a piece brand new and custom fitted, the guy is good there he knows his shit, its right down the big hill and 1 block north of that intersection there, kinda across from the taxidermy place but same street as the dead animal shop.

i went there and the showroom was dry as hell. like 15 bikes there and expensive ones. I wanted to see and ride the bike first, to make sure i like it, i really dont want to order from a catelog or something.

Check out the Village peddler in elgin, as well as schaumburg schwinn. That's the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Performance Bike. Locations in enough places around Chicago- I like because they're corporate/online/brick+mortar and prices on parts are hard to beat + free delivery to a local store. I recommend spending as much money as you can afford. Consider the bike a major purchase like a car/house/major appliance- something you're going to keep for awhile.
What kind of bike you looking for? Road, trail etc.
Definitely get the bike fitted for you- to ensure good riding posture/efficient transfer of power.
