Anyway, could someone recommend a good rim cleaner? I don't want my nice silver rims to get a yellow tinge from shitty rim cleaner. |

| i only use my car wash soapy water... i used the meguires hot rims cleaner, left spots that i had to polish out with my mothers mag and aluminium polish |

| i just use left over car wash soap after i sponge down the car, usually brake dust doesnt stay on after one light wipe. |

| Simple Green, as available at any household cleaner store. Use it as concentrated for brake dust nastiness (a la BMW or other soft-pad euros/etc) or dilute with clean water in a spray bottle for general rim cleaning.
It's totally non-toxic and environmentally friendly too
it does wonders with a decent wheel brush. On cool (not recently driven/braked) wheels/brakes, spray til wet with hose. cover liberally with simple green, let sit for ~30sec, then go to work with the wheel brush. After a good cleaning, spray clean with hose and do again if necessary.
Also, works great with the wheel brush for cleaning sidewalls, makes tire shine stick better  and if you want to, after drip-drying, towel off the clean wheels so no water spots, though there shouldn't be any.
