[img]http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/8716/damn16ad.jpg[img] | Man, you trying to go pro? Looking good!
I think the reflection on the hood and the roof kinda takes away from the picture, but overall, very creative and nice picture. Stupid 8 meg'ers!
Details.

| trying to go pro? hahaha... it's nice, but not that nice... and when I was out taking these pictures... I took like 60 or so... and I was using manual focus for the first time... I got all of about 5 that weren't blurry as hell... 2 are pictured above...
as far as the reflections; I like what they did to the car. A point of order... my car was DIRTY AS HELL when I took this picture. I can imagine what it would've been like if it was clean.
Oh well...
Details... ummm....errrrr...
All I remember is I was using the 300mm lens and I was probably zoomed in to about 200mm ISO 400 f4.0 Av (I think I use Av more than anything).
@LMF, the only thing I would've attempted differently in your picture is to try to get a bit more detail out of the bug. Overall, it's a fantastic picture. I just love how clear the subject is, yet the background and surrounding areas are blurred. Makes the focus on the subject so much better, leads your eyes to the perfect spot, and makes the pictures so incredibly dramatic. Good job!

| I should star using Av more, then.
What was the light source? The sun or a light? I see something in the reflection on your door, too.

I parked between two trees, that were lit from in-ground flood lights. The reflections are due to the lights bouncing off the walls of the building and then back to the car. The reflection on the door (which is really amateur on my part to have that showing ) is one of the lights aforementioned.
Oh, one more thing... the shutter was about 2-4 seconds depending on attitude of the camera. I think I'm going to start using the timer function anyway though... because sometimes, even with the tripod... pressing the button on the camera causes movement, thus making a blurry picture when you leave the shutter open... ruined about 30 of those I took that night.
ALSO, a tip for LMF too, use the LARGEST setting on the camera to take your pictures... then resize them in PS. I know you may not like to use PS, but it makes the pictures so much better when you resize them and add Render ---> Sharpen (and it you don't even notice it when you use this sharpen) but it maintains the clarity after the resize.

| That's some preparation! I just don't have the patience to set everything all up! I'm even thinking about exchanging my 300mm for a 28-200, so that i don't have to even replace lenses. Lazy ownz me.
Yeah, tripods flex, too. I picked up an RC-1 for about $30 on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...527327497&rd=1
EDIT: Coulda got it for $24 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

| There's RC-1, RC-5, and a cable remote. The RC-5 looks cool, and is bigger, but I got the RC-1, 'cause it's small, and attaches to your strap. Oh yeah, this hobby is costly.

I'm going to get one of those remotes in a few days then! I hate when I set up a shot and it comes out blurry. There were TONS of other "poses" i had on this photoshoot that were ruined due to that shaking...
I have Parkinsons from smoking and drinking... or something like that

| just a tip, if you want to try some out without the cable, try using a self timer if your camera has it. I do that while using a tripod with my camera because I'm too cheap to buy a remote

| I used to get by with that trick, but 10 second delay every time you wanna take a pic can get freakin' annoying!

| I do agree, 10 seconds is a lil rediculous, unless you are running 15 feet and trying to get into a picture
3 seconds would not be so bad.
