Autozone/Pep Boys have really shitty clay that doesn't last very long.. I'm looking for something quality. I've washed my car once in the year I've owned it, so you can imagine the buildup of crap on there.

i used Meguires claybar, but i guess i did it wrong and the clay pretty much just melted onto my car and i spent most of the day buffing all the clay out.

But I heard good stuff about Mothers Clay bar.

I've used mothers claybar on all 3 of my cars, and it does NOTHING. Claybar only works if your car is really really dirty and has dirt you can't remove by simply washing with soap/water and waxing. Since my cars are typically pretty well waxed, I've never encountered a situation when its actually done anything, so I wouldn't recommend it.

My claymagic bar is still good after about 10 years of using it so far.
soap and water and a chunk of that clay and nothing is left on the finish.

I'm looking for an industrial type clay that is used in actual production type detail, so it's going to be quality. I forget the name of the crap I used to use at Carmax. Clay isn't meant to necessarily clean or take dirt off the car, it's main use is for getting off raildust (hardened tar), overspray, bugs, etc...

The clay I have seen sold by these companies is crap... falls apart in your hand and isn't tough enough to re-use time after time.

I bought that clay magic bar/spray and it fell apart, it was a piece of shit and I wouldn't buy it again.

I'm trying to find a reseller for Zep products. I will have to check NAPA today or tomorrow, but hopefully they carry something.

I want to do the Monte next week when I'm off.

I'm not going to waste my time on the Camaro, that whole car is going to have to get sprayed.
