Letters To The Future.

I am not sure if this is a repost, I am way to lazy to use the search button right now.

I was posting on GDA ( a Green Day Forum I am apart of ) and some kid made a post about writing letters to your future selves. I thought it seemed like a cool thing to do so I wanted to share the link with all of you.

http://www.futureme.org/index.php

This is a website where you put in your email, and you write an e-mail to yourself, then set a date for it to be sent. So you'll get in whenever you put in.

They have some interesting public emails (emails other people wrote) if you click on "view public emails"

* Side Note..You may have to register to use the site, but no worries, you wont be recieving any spam from them.

Just for the hell of it out of sheer boredom, I am going to share the letter I wrote to myself to you all.

Jennifer -

Wow, The big 3-0 today. Have you accomplished anything yet?

As I am sitting here right now, I am 21, It's amazing to think that when I am going to be reading this again, I am going to be 30.

You were in love with an amazing guy named Brandon or J as everyone used to call him. Are you still with him? Did you two finally get married and have kids like all the times you used to talk about? Or did it not work out? If you are 30 and single, maybe you should give him a call. He really was something special.

Is your favorite band still Green Day? Is Green Day even still together? Remember your 21st birthday, when your father bought you your first Green Day concert tickets, Remember how you cried at the concert because you thought the seats were so crappy and thought you weren't going to see anything, Even more importantly you thought J was going to have a crappy time. In the end you had an amazing time all thanks to J. Never forget that memory.

If by now, you have kids, I hope you are letting them find their own idenitys and aren't to strict on them. Of Course kids need alittle direction but I hope you are also letting them become their own person and aren't pushing your beliefs on them to much.

I really hope Vicki is still your best friend. You've known her since freshman year of High School and I hope you two didn't have a falling out. I know how you are with not calling people back and you are absolutly horrible about not answering your phone. If you lost touch with anybody, I hope it wasn't her.

Are you still apart of the Chicago Velocity forums? If you are then I hope by now you have a drivers liscense and a decent car. Remember how lame you felt being 21 and not having a liscense or a car. Remember how pissed you felt when your parents refused to take you to get it and you had to depend on J and other people to take you driving. Remember the great feeling you felt when J was teaching you how to drive stick shift. You loved J's little red BMW. You really fancied Steve's Bimmer too.

Do you still hate using your full name? You must have tried to find new ways to change it every year. As I sit here and write this now, you are currently going by " Jenni " .

I hope by now, that you are 30, that you are over all happy with the way things have turned out so far in your life. I hope you have alittle more motivation, and some direction. I hope you have a decent career that makes you happy. I hope you have a decent place you can call home. A decent man to call your own. Good friends and lots of laughs are a must have too.

Sincerly -

Jenni.

I don't think that really matters to me. It's just for fun.

i remember doing this in sophmore english. we wrote a letter and in a few years our teacher would mail it to us. but my teacher gave me mine when i transferred out of that school and moved. good thing....cuz after that i moved another two times. its kinda cool to read a letter like that. i mean even in a short span of time.....like lets say a year your life can change so many different wasy or you, yourself, could change. things that seemed stupid to you could be one of the most important things in your life...and things you thought were important only seem trivial.
