Just 'getting into one' is not a violation itself.

Most times a citation is issued for the 'cause' of the accident (if one is determined/witnessed/admitted to).

only if its your fault. Ive been in an accident got sandwhiched, someone rear ended me and shoved my car into another car. The car that hit me got hit with all the tickets, i got nothing on my record.
