got bike yesteday...but good news and bad news

1997 CBR900RR
14,000 miles
Full Hindle Exhaust
New Undertail and Integrated Tailight-Plus the original parts. ( you put them on for me)
New Fork Seals
New Front Tire - Rear is fair condition

pics here:

but thats the end of the good news....
now the bad...

bike is crashed....

went and titled it...got insurance on it yesterday (friday)...got done titling it and was going to meet up with 1meanRR and stopped by shop to show my dad...well lil bro was there with his bike...so let him take it for a ride...1st thing i tell him...NO STUPID SHIT!!!...both of us wearing all gear...except he had no gloves ( i was wearing his)...he jumped on it, got the front off the ground....came down no problem...got to a stop sign...he then turned left...went straight and popped it up again...WELL...the rear must broke loose on him while in the air or hit a bad grove in the road...next thing i know im watching the back of the bike wobble left to right...then he brings the front down and it headshakes like nuts and BOOM.....down it goes...slides on the left side most of the time...left engine cover, left handle bar took brunt of the bike damage...some scratching on the left side of bike and whatnot...no destoyed plastics...

but my lil bro on otherhand...stuck hands out...and rashed them all up...got 4 stiches in right hand...ripped left ring finger fingernail almost completely off...but the hands are the the most damage...took some rash to the belly and the knees...but thats it...he is ok...he is more worried about my bike and before the bike had even come to a stop he is yelling...IM SO SORRY....hey...its what insurance is for...ya know...as long as he has avoided serious injusry..thats all the matters...his nail wont stop bleeding so its soaking through the gauze...but he should be just fine..only has use of 4 finger right now...both thumbs and both index fingers...its gonna be a pain for him for the next week...so after the hospital E.R....we go back to my parents shop...had 1meanRR meet up with me and unloaded the bike from the truck (which my dad helped me put in) and then i rode his bike to his house...and im getting home now....

gonna have to take it to dupage honda and see about the extent of damage...it was still sliding when he was stopped...the left engine cover actually had a hole in it and all the oil dumped out...so im assuming the bike had shut itsself off (hopefully it had a shock sensor and cut off) cause when i got to bike..it was not running....the plastics are just fine and the insurance company would nail the bike hard for that...but ZERO frame/subframe damage...it does not look really that bad...but i need to take to shop and get a good going over...

new rule for me...NO ONE EVER AGAIN RIDES MY SHIT....i dont care if they are a professional bike rider in the ama...never again...

shitty that happened to a new (to you) bike, that sucks... but i'm glad to hear your bro is going to make it. i hate hearing about when accidents like that get a lot worse

hopefully you'll get back riding one way or another (fix the 900 or new one) soon.

Sorry to hear bout what happened. congrats on the new bike, but sorry bout how damaged it is. Hopefully it'll be up and running in no time. Glad to hear your bro is alright though. I guess he learned his lesson the hard way. Hopefully he'll listen to you next time. That's why I don't let ANYBODY ride my bike.

On a side note* I got a new helmet and a pair of sunglasses for me and my bike. The helmet is lighter than the previous one and I like it a lot better. Time to check out a few more things and i'll be good to go.

I'm sorry to hear that, and I'm glad he's relatively OK.

Read your policy though. Riding on 1 wheel is considered 'wreckless driving' which may or may not be a clause on your policy for coverage.

Geesh, glad to hear everything (bro and bike) are doing okay. In a way you still have your bro and your bike, right?! At least you got to ride for at least someting instead of not ridding at all before crashing. Good luck with everything.
