| Well, if one has to say something nice about them:
The only porsche worse than the 924/944/968 was the 914. |

really?...i never heard any mechanical issues bad about the 914...i know they LOVED to rust out...but were the cheap mans version of the 911 and could scoot pretty well and handle like its on rails with the low profile and wide track stance...

That sucks, looked like a nice dd car to have. car has a nice powerful 4 banger 50/50 weight dist like my 240, the rear mounted trans which would have made things interesting..

it's not rebadged but merely a final evolution of the 944S2. 968 has the biggest production 4 banger up the time. it was a vastly improved model over the final 944S2 in terms of comfort and accoutrement. the 968 motor was the first (and only) porsche 4 banger to sport VarioCam + 6 spd tarnny. the cabrio 968 has been able to maintain their resell because they were (are) rare as shit. as a daily driver, it's preferred over the final 951 turbo s due to instant low end tq and lesser heat generated under the hood...
it's a beautiful car, shunned by 911 enthusiats but i almost bought one in the y2ks. the popup rotating headlights along are worth the price of entry itself... |
