Lose.

Diet and excercise. Balanced meals. Whole grains (v. carbs that contain unriched bleached flour). Many people say to eat several small meals per day to up your metabolism.

Expend more calories than you take in.

basically a lifestyle change for me I just had my physical last week, every test shows im healthy and normal, but slightly overweight. but after reading online and looking at height/weight charts. I somehow have to loose like 40lbs to be at the "ideal" weight. i havent been at that ideal weight since HS

I wanna get to the ideal weight but i dont think itll be possible unless i develop some eating disorder lol.

I need to lose some weight also. I already drink alot of water, but I've recently started going to a gym as well.

Atkins is a permanant diet. Yes you will lose weight, but you have to stay on the diet... FOREVER.

That sounds awesome...I just don't think many people's lifestyles allow for them to eat 5-6x per day.

I disagree. Most people can do it. Especially females since their meals are fairly small and can be eaten fast. Now it may not be easy or comfortable to eat 5 meals a day, but certainly doable.

I'm having a severe case of de ja vu. Haven't we had this exact same discussion before?

Anyway, I suppose if you have a desk job it's feesible. However, if you really only have two opportunities to eat non-refrigerated food at 7am and 10:30 am, and not again until 4:30pm...and don't get home until 6, 6:30, it doesn't seem likely. Not to mention those foods listed have to be refrigerated, and don't you have to eat every X hours? And then not after a certain time (i.e. 10pm, or X hours before bedtime)?

I have been working on portion control for a few months now, I now eat less per meal than my gf doesn sometimes and still only eat 3 times a day, max, or twice with a snack, I went from 185 lbs end of winter to 158 lbs now. I still drink too much pop, booze heavily on weekends too
