| I, myself, would say that the picture belongs to the person who set all the settings, ect. That person did all the work. All the other person did was just press the button. Other people might see differently, but I say the picture belongs to the person who adjusted all the settings for the picture and what not. |

| Unless you're planning on selling the picture because it's that good, i wouldn't too concerned about the technical details such as that.
Why didn't you just take the picture yourself? |

| Your camera, your 'investment', your shot. Anyone could have pushed the button or your lazy ass could have used a self-timer.
Your shot. |

Your shot. |
While this is true, I think it also depends on the framing of the shot, the timing of it and such. If it was just a still object, then yes, all those settings and work would be yours.
However if it involves framing of the object (a moving object, car, person, etc) then I think that the person who actually took the shot is entitled to more of it than the camera owner.

| i say this who ever took the actual shot it belongs to them. yes its ur camera but if he had to hold it and take a pic of it then its his. it was his discretion to take the pic so its his pic. you can set all the settings u want and tell him what to shoot and its your camera, but its still not your pic. its because he shot it. he clicked the shutter its his picture. |

you're right, that is a good question. i know in your situation it didnt matter, but i could see that being a sticky subject should anything have come out of the pic itself

| That is a good question indeed. For this particular situation, I'd have to say it's yours.

| Unless you have a signed agreement stating otherwise, whomever owns the storage media owns the shot. You did not hire the button pusher or compensate him for his 'talent' in any way, right? Your media, your shot. |

| if you borrow a gun from a friend for a hunting trip you both go on and kill a deer, is the deer more your friends than yours?
These types of questions/analogies aren't going to work in this type of situation, there are too many variables.
But for this particular situation I'd say yes, it would be his [dj] shot since it is a batch set of photos.
If the person had to frame and shoot just one photo and he happened to catch it at an opportune moment, then I think the photo would belong more to him than anyone else regardless of settings.
But since all he really did have to do was stand there and hold the button down, then yes it is djnarush's photo since he got to choose which one he wanted.
forgive me if some of it doesnt make sense I just woke up
