also childish rivalries bother me. i still can't understand why there are 5+ other automotive forums for the chicagoland area. of course, there's not much CV as a site can do about that. | i would not hesitate to say of all the car forums i know of in this area, including the ones i read and the ones i do not, this one seems to have the least amount of driving/driving events. ex: http://www.chicagovelocity.com/forum...splay.php?f=21
large board with many members, yet if you look at all the driving events maybe 6 people at various times even attended any. i know it has said before cv isn't a just/all about cars board - but it still has a base of car enthusiasts - however people seem to be more enthusiastic about going to hooters. my .02 |

| Hey, at least we're doing SOMETHING! Nothing wrong with hooters, or BWW. They're very convenient for us, and most of the time we hang out outside (weather permitting) and chat about cars. It's also what spawned the weekly cruises, if i'm not mistaken.

| you have to understand some of work on weekends and it makes autocross pretty much not a choice for activites. Personally i respect it but i would rather hone my skills at a driving skill school first then just do track days. My dad used to club race and my heart lies there. There are just too many rule nazi's in autocross for my taste and people who believe its the end all be all autosport. I personally would love to work on a honda section, even though i would love boost i am an all motor fanboy at heart. I love all cars, love giving phil shit about his nissan perversion. My BMW family gives me shit daily but i survive. The site needs to get some blood and be really active. As for meets steve, its has to work both ways, (this is just constructive criticisim) you have set up meets and not shown, and really for the most part don't attend other events other than the tavern meets. There are cliques on this site, that happens everywhere. Ill finish my rant later...i need food. |

And back when I had the time, probably planned half the meets that were posted in that section.

| we should all do our part in getting more people on this forum. thus more people will come out to the meets. its always the same ol people comin out. pretty much the biggest turn outs were back in the pavillion days. if we can get it like that again, then we should be golden |

| Meets aren't hard to do, Steve. Hell, for the past, what...3 months or more, we met out in Schaumburg for our cruises every Thursday. Also, our Hooters/BWW meets have become a ritual for us. It's no longer a "CV meet" for us. We're all good friends now... far beyond our screen names.

You guys show up to the cruises and Hooters meets because of the reason you just brought up - you all know each other pretty well and will show up regardless of if it's CV related. I have "meets" with Phil and Greg every weekend in that case, I just don't post them.
