CV's activity always seems to slow down in the fall/winter.

I have "meets" with Phil and Greg every weekend in that case, I just don't post them.
I didn't know anyone but Phil at the cruise meets. That's how I got to know people, and that's my point, brotha!

Hell no... it goes up during fall/winter. People are out doing stuff when it's nice out. What else is there to do on a nasty, cold day/night? Go on CV!

im not too sure stoping the cruises was a good idea... its not that bad out that we cant drive... instead of chillin in a parking lot somewhere we could just go inside and eat right away.... also... if we were doing that we wouldnt be bitching about how we dont like cv, we would be having a good time...

True, but we need to improve CV as a whole. I wouldn't mind a cruise next week... I miss you nerds.

i was mainly putting a hiatus on cruises for my grades, but once in a while they arn't a bad idea. The whole thing is people have to make an effort, like reggie was saying, he didn't know anyone really at cruises, came out and got to love us nerds. I wouldn't mind setting up some sort of hang out during warmer months but the thing is alot of that has been runied because of littering and just plain ass hats in the past, and im not blaming anyone here. Just disrespectful people in general have ruined rsx meets too. If we surround ourselves with a smart, non-asshat group the better the group becomes and we thrive when that happens.

different niche groups like being on the same sites. easier to relate to those people, more knowledgable (in most cases)

cv is more of a social enviornment. imo anyway.

Nothing really bothers me anymore, because i don't care what people say anymore. You have probably noticed that i don't post, if ever.

Anyway, yeah, childish behavior doesn't help anyone, at all.

Good luck.

Whatever happened to the "new direction" that this board was supposed to take a while back? I haven't seen any new changes that make it more appealing for "lurkers" to join.

I just saw that webmasters can advertise their site for free in Modified Mag so thats something that either Steve or Ryan can handle. As far as the "Car Forum" idea, making it more technically based may drive people away. But then again, it may bring in some folks, who knows?

There should be more meets and people, like myself, who are on other Chicago-based boards should invite them out as well to better the CV relationship with them.

I love the technical aspects of the sites i visit. I love reading suspension stuff, the all motor forums, im on clubrsx way more than here, but this is more active locally than that site. Plus ive made some awesome friends here i wouldn't trade for anything. I think this site just really needs to evaluate what sections are being run by who. As well as people should be trying to get people that they believe would be a good fit to come out. Nick said it best last night when I was talking to him last night. Try to recruit people that you would want to hang out with, don't just try to get huge numbers of people on here. When i was new i came to as much stuff as i could to try and meet people and get to know people. It isn't going to be an easy project but it should be done.

what events were these? i would be likely to show up at drivey stuff. if you tried to host your own autox you'd probably have fun paying for usage of lot + insurance costs. depending on where you try to go though it could work out.

There are just too many rule nazi's in autocross for my taste and people who believe its the end all be all autosport. I personally would love to work on a honda section, even though i would love boost i am an all motor fanboy at heart. I love all cars, love giving phil shit about his nissan perversion. My BMW family gives me shit daily but i survive. The site needs to get some blood and be really active. As for meets steve, its has to work both ways, (this is just constructive criticisim) you have set up meets and not shown, and really for the most part don't attend other events other than the tavern meets. There are cliques on this site, that happens everywhere. Ill finish my rant later...i need food.
i certainly agree with that, if you`re working on the weekends that it is probably difficult to allocate time to any driving thing because they take up a majority of the day. i don`t know what you mean about rule nazis at autox - i have been to almost everyone`s autocross and i haven`t heard any unreasonable rules. i have also never heard of a single person treat it as a be all end all motorsport. track days are more difficult to come by as well as more expensive - you`re better off starting out with autox anyway to get you ready for track, it is a good transition between street and track.

well depends how you look at it. most people that i know who autocross do it on regional competitive levels and all they do is whine about the rules. Plus setting up a car for autocross is totally different than for track in most cases due to the car for autocross being setup to transition so fast while for track it really depends where you are driving.

I know I have never attended the thurs cruise, but I think stopping it was a bad idea... the weather isn't all that bad for driving... it hasn't snowed yet lol and personally the sunday cruise was fun as hell... I didn't know anyone but the friendly people at the meet really made it comfortable for me to be myself... and the thing with CV is that the site consists mostly of "friends" or innercircle... so an outsider like me would be intimitated at first but really have to overcome that shy attribute to add and help "grow" cv altogther...
