after graduating from high school i would hope most people would stop acting like they were still in it. unfortunately it sounds like some people have a lot of growing up still to do that they should have alredy done.

weaving in and out of traffic and performing risky maneuvers on the street is moronic plain and simple, idiots who do that shit deserve tickets. look here is the perfect place test how fast one really is - AMS Track Day @ Autobahn Country Club - October 30, 2006!!
yet how many people are going to it? reckless highway driving doesn't make you a racer, it makes you a dangerous poser.

Everyone needs to stop picking out things they want to see within a post and going off that. Take the post as a whole for it's true meaning (except for the hissyfits). A lot of us were truely concerned for everyone's well-being. Even those driving 80 mph can still get in a wreck and kill themselves. It can happen to anyone, anywhere. We just didn't want to up the odds. That's all. Young, we weren't trying to pinpoint anyone about that. Phil just said that some people (and I'll admit, I was one of them) don't want to drive that fast. No one spoke up about it being a problem - just like no one spoke up about ending the cruises.

Are Nyquil-Eric and I the only ones that wants this animosity squashed? Come on, guys. None of us deserves this finger-pointing, blood boiling shit that we're doing to each other.

... *sigh*

edit: I feel like i have so much to say, but what's the point... so i can wait for someone who has different views than I to write their rebutle?? A lot of true colors being shown by this point i feel; also too many things have been said. This is ridiculous.

So long??

the only thing that bothers me the most about CV is that skyline4life once said "im talking about people who don't know shit about cars" hence my sig.

He hasn't posted on here in over 4 months. Don't tell us you're still mad about that.

As mentioned and not mentioned:
-lack of activity
-lack of interest
-imature members
-lack of activity in meets
-99% of the time no one was on time for meets, even Mr. CV
-usually everyone hibernates during the cold season

What can be done:
-Bring back or come up with new sections (ex: Un/bling; TechHelp, Motocycle Section, etc)
-Come up with something other than just sit at a parking lot for hours and stare at one another and each other cars that we all have seen
-Become more restricted with immature members and CV rules
-Show up and be on time for meets

well, i wasnt exactly mad at it, it just amazes me how ignorant one can be and think they know what they are talking about on a car forum.

I haven't received any PMs about anything unfortunately.

The "troubles" most of us are describing aren't things that are "fixable" in that sense. The site's issues lie with it's attendance and participation. Back when this site first came out, it was the only one of it's kind in this area. Now there are like 10, all of which have seen mixed levels of success. Most of them, however, are either failing completely or witnessing the same problems we have.

I think we just have a market that's been oversaturated, and because we can't offer anything to the niche markets, like Chuck mentioned, people have gotten bored with it. The only thing we can offer is something to do outside of the website. Meets and events are the only things that keep a site like ours alive, and because we've had a lack of members, I think motivation to have these meets has also suffered.

It's all a balancing act. If we take the time to have really great meets, I think we could attract more people. But it can't just be meeting at a bar or somewhere in Chinatown. We need to put on something other clubs can't.

Clubs have memberships and treehouses.

I think most people are a bit uptight for whatever reason and just need to chill out. This is the internet, this is a website. Making posts on here and coming out to a meet are totally different things. 80% of the people on this board will never come to a meet, because it's either not for them, or they don't have the time in the lives to for it.

it bothers me that a complaint thread gets more posting and views than most every thread in here in the last few months.....

Most of the crap in here has nothing to do with the board itself.
I'm sure reflects participation on it though.

There were some good ideas minus the fighting. Which had nothing to do with the site.

I think that can be an analogy for what is the situation with the site in general.

Yeah, maybe. I'm on two other boards, and the members are, for the most part, are far nicer and active. You know, this site is famous for saying how people deserve to die and whatnot. Shit like that.
