| Friends and I have done this a bunch of times, not to that extent though, and it is awsome.

| I think Jay showed me something like this before. Does it have to be diet coke? Or can it be any carbonated beverage? |

| I think, if I remember Myth Busters correctly, it works best with diet coke.

| Also you need a touch of rock salt they said also.
Imagine firing a spray of diet coke with only a chemical reaction up into the air over 34 feet. |

| Becky and I tried doing the experiment this past weekend at her house; she didn't believe it was going to do anything. I was only able to insert one mentos inside the 2 liter bottle since it reacted right away, Coke shot up my hand so I walked away. With only one mentos, Coke shot only about 12-14 inches above the bottle opening. I would like to try it again but with MORE mentos inside the bottle.
Once the reaction is over, and if you have any coke left, try drinking it! It's kind of good of you like mint flavor since it turned into Mint flavored Coke. |
