anyone deal in Identity Theft cases?

I got jacked by the court system and the post office.

My license was supposedly mailed by the court back in september. post office said if they got it, they woulda delivered it.... except i never got my fucking license in the mail.

lady at the dmv said "those dickwads at the court always say they mail it but they never do"

I can get a new license ..it's not a big deal...but I want to protect myself against identity theft for whoever stole my old license.

advice?

File a police report saying the license was stolen. Contact the credit bureaus and let them know as well.

Yes, it is a federal offense, unless it was never mailed. In which case, it should be a federal offense to steal from the court. but yeah, do the above, and the credit bureaus will flag your credit report.

you shouldn't have to worry to much as long as your DL does not have your SS#. You can have a fraud alert put on your credit by contacting each of the 3 reporting agencies. However, if I'm not mistaken that will put a hit on your credit score.

You'll probably want to check your credit to make sure everything is in order. If you don't see anything on it then you should be fine.
