Chitown and Surrounding Area Meet :: LIVE UPDATE THREAD!

If you are planning on coming to the Friday night Nov. 10th at 5:30PM please read this below.

Good Morning Everyone. I wanted to first off thank everyone who has signed up. I myself have been extremly excited for this meet and I know some of you have also. Unfortunatly the weather has decided not to work with us. Tonight Friday Nov. 10th it is suppose to be mid to low 30's and snowing. This isn't exactly the best weather in the world for a meet.

We have decided to move the meet to Saturday. I know this isn't what most of us want but at this point we really don't have much of a choice. Now come Saturday if the weather does hold out enough for us to have a meet we will go then unless the ground(Grass) is muddy or really wet. If that is the case their is a brand new huge parking garage downtown Naperville. This is right smack dab in the middle of about 10 restaurants and a ton of nice clubs/bars. Most of you probably won't be interested in this and I understand that completly and I am open to suggestions but if the ground is to wet where we are on Saturday it's really our only alturnative. I will post a poll on this thread to gauge what you guys would like to do in the event that we cannot meet at the desired location Saturday night.

Of course if we end up at the downtown Naperville parking garage the confirmed list is sort of useless and anyone that wants to come is more then welcome. I really don't see a difference to the meet weather we meet at the downtown Naperville Parking Garage or the Naperville primery location on the grass. The meets a meet and the same cars and people are going so the location shouldn't matter a ton. Anyways make your vote and let everyone know what YOU want to do.

I apologize and if I had the means to get us some sort of large warehouse or something all to park in a would but it was just to short of notice.

Aren't the cops really, really bad in Naperville? Like, wouldn't they kick everyone out?

the parkin lot would be more like the ff3...cool but yeh ....did u guys get a permission for the parkin lot ?

At this point in time it is 10:30 on Saturday morning. The weather seems to be ok and and we are headed over to the location to check the status of the ground. As everyone knows we had a shit ton of rain last night so we want to make sure the ground is suitable for cars to park without making a mess of the cars and of the ground. We will have a for sure or not decision made by 3:30PM today. Please pay attention to this post because we will update everyeone. Thank you

We took a trip over to the site jsut now and found out the ground is extremly dry and we have a ton of firewood. We have decided we are going to go ahead and go through with the meet. We will start parking cars at 6:00pm. If you have a extra flood lite or bright garage lite please bring it cause me might need one or two extra. We will be out there regardless of how many people show up. We know we haev moved it around and it is cold but we will be out there. First off I want to thank everyone that beared the cold and came out. For those of you that forgot about it or didn't know about it we had a large car meet/gathering last night on private property in Naperville. We started parking around 6pm and I don't think that last people ended up leaving my house afterwards till like 2:30am lol. Their were about 30-40 cars there over the night and we had a few very good races through out the evening. No one acted like morons or did anything stupid. The cars were all beautifull. The ground was extremly dry and the wind wasn't blowing at all so the cold was a minimal factor. We had a ton of rotary cars out there as well as a ton of nice imports. I think their must have been people out there from at least 10 different enthusiasts sites. The post meet activities were well lol fun to say the least. One group split off around 11:45 to go cruise d-town Chicago and the other headed over to my place. Weather was actually not bad at all. We kept the fire going strong and the music up so I think everyone had a great time as well.

I was using this meet as a base to see if/how we would run one in the spring. I think by the reaction of the people that came, they would deff come to the next one. So I am officially anounncing that we will be hosting a minimum of three very similar meets this spring/summer. The first of which will be a larger scale gather/meet the second being a more event type of feel with shops/vendors on site. The third and so on are yet to be TBD.

Again I wanted to thank the people that came out last night cause the meet went great and I can't say enough about how well everyone acted the whole time. Thanks guys and keep your eye out for another meet this spring!

yeah i couldnt make it out because i was celebrating my birthday! ill definately be there next year. i should have all the mods i want for my car by then. =)
