Need an opinion..

I'm looking into dual exhaust, so I need to start thinking of tips.. I've got two tips from a supercharged Monte Carlo that I can use when I get the muffler.. (Just a camaro DUAL outlet muffler with two new tail pipes, and tips..

The tips are these:

on car before removal last spring:

Off the car last night, sitting on my desk polished with nev-r-dull..

My car.. (best back shot i have..)

What Im thinkin is this.. i mspainted to represent what they might look like (other tips..

Singles, or.

Quads..

I'm lookin for opinions on what you guys think would look better with that.. I think the quads make the rear end stand out more and look like it's got some balls to it.

The muffler I'm looking at is from http://www.justmagnaflow.com, part number 12266, 5x8 Alumnized 18" can, 2.50" out, 2.25" in, from a camaro .. magnaflow obviously. i've heard these mufflers on these cars and (in my opinion) They sound DAMN good. $89.06 for the muffler. then the cost of installation which my buddy owns a shop and a pipe bender and welder so he can fab it up cheap. . i'm removing the resonator also while it's in there, as well as getting a high-flow catalytic convertor if i can spring for that yet. i'm gathering funds right now, still looking for a job.. this mod will more than likely wait til jan-april.

nope, i'm staying with what size piping the car had from the factory, just a different muffler.. maybe a cone intake through right in front of the fender well sooner or later. . that involves moving the EVAP canister up on the frame to behind the headlight, then running it through that hole, though. it's do-able.

i'm aware if i went bigger, i'll lose back pressure.. plus, it's not supercharged, so i won't really benefit from bigger pipe.

Any car benefits from a bigger pipe

go with a 2"-2 1/4" pipe and you will be good. That is what the gf and I run on our NAs and it helped. And we only have 4bangers. I'm sure you will be fine with a bigger engine.

IMO getting a new exhaust but not going a bit bigger would be a waste.

when they do the pipes, do they charge by the foot for the piping? i'm looking to go with stainless .. i don't want my pipe rusting out after one year. i'll look into going .25" bigger.

i'm off to school.. i'll respond to this thread at around 10-10:45 if i've got computer access.

Go to Iggy's on Motrose and Harlem. They are amazing and have done two of my exhausts, my gf's, and two of my friends. They are all custom and can do what you want.

A full Turbo back without hanging the muffler was $300 for 2 1/2"

My cat-back with hanging the muffler was 300 for 2 1/4"

They do great work and can have it back to you same day.

Don't go anymore than 2.25. It should sound pretty cool. Get it done and post a vid.
