If you find a way to ride stupid enough to kill yourself going in a -straight line- you're doing the world a favor.

Just be alert to your surroundings/road conditions, don't ride stupid, know the bikes capabilities while MANEUVERING/braking, and wear protective gear!!!

Everyone knows the risks- I can't count how many "This forum member died" threads are over on the chicago sportbike forum from last year.

Get some frame sliders and save your fairings.

Obviously I have a naked bike, but they will still protect some parts from damage.
I found my white ones real cheap on Ebay.

If anyone needs to do a carb synchronization in the spring I have the tool+mercury, runs like BUTTER afterwards!!

And I recommend getting some 1.85" Brake Signal LED clusters from CustomDynamics.com- they are the SHIET!!

yea..i would get those frame sliders of course. def. wouldn't think of getting rid of the original fairings as well.

i just have to wait till at least after i pay off my credit cards (most of my debt and should be paid off by mid year this year), then i'll start looking more into work when the time is near. frame sliders, fairings, wheels, seat cowel, getting the bike lowered (just a little bit), brakes,...and there's still quite a few more things that I still haven't mentioned.

whatever you do, dont go half ass and slide the forks thru. you still have the same suspension travel and you will destroy your fairings when it comes down.

my seat cowl blew off at da grove. for whatever reason they fit crappy on the first 636's. so thats toast.

hey did you do the jumper mod on your 636? go to kawiforums.com. search jumper mod, or wire mod in the 636 forum. it makes the bike eurospec and it puts out a lil more power...for free of course.

i'll never do anything half ass when it comes to modifying a vehicle. just not worth the safety in my eyes.

and no i haven't done the jumper mod. i haven't done ANYTHING to the bike. lol. lately just haven't had any time to mess around with it. I don't even have much time to ride it. but i'll check into that. thanks for the reminder.

I'm in the market for your exact year and model in Kawasaki green right now. Just don't know if I can go from an 1100cc back down to a 600cc.

depends on what year liter bike you had. There are a lot of 600's now that have as much power as the older liters had. Plus they are a lot more fun because they are lighter with all that power! I actually want to get one to go to the track with.

What surprised me is that most all sportbikes are ALL capable factory stock of 10 second e.t.'s.
It's just a matter if you want to be in the low, Mid, or high 10's.

Registration for Basic Rider Courses (BRC) and Experienced Rider Courses (ERC) are accomplished via this web site only. Courses will be closed automatically as they fill up.

Please note the following :

When registering online you will need to provide exact information from your driver's license, plus a home or work phone number and an e-mail address.

In addition:

Registration dates for courses will be staggered.
You may only register at sites beginning on the specified dates. If you attempt to register for a site before it is available, you will receive an error message saying, "Registration for this event is currently not available."
Any registration for sites received in any way prior to the specified opening dates will be returned.
No phone registrations will be accepted.
Transfers can only be done if space is available. (see below)
You will need a credit card to register for a course online. No charge will be made to your credit card until you are officially enrolled into a course. See below for more information on policies regarding deposits.
To register online, click the site you wish to register at. If registration is available, that is, if the date indicated has come and there are still openings, you will be directed to our online registration system. If you try to register for a course that is not available, you will get an error message indicating the schedule is not available.

Course Times:

Weekend BRC Courses: 6-10 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Weeklong Evening BRC Courses: 6-10 p.m. Monday-Friday
ERC Courses: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be in the classroom for roll call of the first class session or you will lose your seat. No excuses will be accepted.
Go directly to the Course Schedules page.

Only one person per registration form will be accepted, and a person cannot be registered for more than one course through the registration office. A person may attend additional courses as a walk-in student. If you registered for multiple courses you will be CANCELED from all but the first one you registered for.

The Motorcycle Safety Project realizes the limiting of one person per registration makes it difficult for people to register together in courses. However, large numbers of duplicate registrations experienced in previous years (resulting in equally large numbers of no-shows) required this change. This change will result in more people being able to register for courses.

Deposits: Your $20 registration deposit reserves your place in a class. However, you must attend the first class meeting on time to claim your reserved seat. If you are late to the first night of class, your seat will be given to someone on the "walk-in list" and you will forfeit your deposit.

Convenience Fee: University Outreach, Conferencing and Registration Services will include a $3.00 non-refundable fee for the processing of each online registration. This fee will be in addition to the registration deposit being made to reserve a seat in a motorcycle safety course.

Donations/Refunds: You may donate your $20 deposit to the Motorcycle Safety Project so that it may be used to help expand and improve our course offerings and operations. This will help to give many other people the opportunity to share the experience you will have with this course and help them to come into the sport of motorcycling in a much safer manner.

At the end of the course you participate in you will be given a form. To donate your $20 deposit, you will be require to check the appropriate box that indicates your desire to make the donation and then sign the form to acknowledge you are donating your registration deposit. If you elect not to donate the deposit, you must check the appropriate box to indicate you want a refund.

Persons registering online using a credit card will receive a refund in the form of a credit back to the appropriate credit card used to register for the course. There will be no direct transfers of funds to participants with credit card transactions.

Transfers and Cancellations: Transfers can only be made if space is available. You may contact our office to transfer from one course to another, but may only do so once without forfeiting your deposit. Transfers or cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before your scheduled class begins. Pre-registration cancellations and transfers received at least 72 hours before the course starting date will be fully refunded after the course is finished. Cancellations from a course must be submitted to the Motorcycle Safety Project in writing either by e-mail, fax or regular mail. Call (800) 892-9607 to transfer your registration.

Substitutions: There will be NO substitutions for anyone registered for an BRC or ERC course that becomes unable to fill their assigned reserved course position. If a person becomes unable to attend an assigned course, someone will fill the position from the Walk-in list.

Registration Confirmation: Once the registration fee has been confirmed and the registration has been accepted into the system (meaning there was no duplication), a formal confirmation letter and map with directions to the class will be mailed.

Walk-In Student Procedure: Walk-in students will be selected using a lottery process. Those wanting to enroll as a walk-in will be given a two-part ticket. The individual will keep one half and the other half will be put into a container for a possible drawing on open spots. Once roll call is completed at 6 p.m., tickets will be drawn from the container to fill any vacancies.
