Costco Printing (FYI)

Ok, if you guys dont/didnt know. Costco Has an awesome printing lab. You can get prints up to poster size for like $10. Best deal anywhere, plus the product comming out of those machines are breath taking for their prices.
many, many, many photographers use costco for printing. Even wedding photographers.
If you dont have a card, get one. Youll get that money back on savings for the prints. Also, you can upload photos from home, then select which store you want to pick them up at.

I want to put a photo of my dog in this thread that is saved on my computer to see if you think it would be a good photo to blow up to have framed. I don't know how, b/c it's not hosted anywhere.

Attached is the photo. What do you think, do you think that would look nice framed and hung up like 11X7 or larger?

I use sams club and they are equally as good. cheaper than walmart too. Sams uses Fuji paper which is some of the best, you can get an 5x7 for .54 each and a 8 x 10 for about 1.50 from sams. Walmart is about double those costs.

Becky, Is that the original, or processed photo.
if it is NOT the original, Email me the original

djnarush@yahoo.com

if this is all you have, im sorry to say, but you wouldnt get a quality image larger than a 4X6. you COULD try a 5 X 7 print, but that would be pushing it.

If you have any questions about the print hit me up, Ill answer any questions you have

Hi Seph, that is the original maybe just resized. I have a pretty decent camera, the Cannon Elph powershot SD 600. I could change the settings and take a better photo (larger and better quality- if you think that would be sufficient?). I just have to read the manual.

Becky, try shooting at the cameras highest res and image quaility.

LmFDeeDee, mpix actually has better prints than costco, well worth the extra cost. its just that costco offers a high convinience to people.
im actually going to use mpix to fill my 12X12 portfolio

edit: Becky, i forgot to mention, resolution(dpi) is actually more important then pixle size

Yes, I know, was just putting the name out. Costco is good for smaller prints and when I want larger prints I go to mpix. Would love to see your portfolio when you get it done.

HOLY MOTHERFUCKEN SHIT!!!!!
i just got home from picking up my test 11X14's and OMG..
i cant stress how impressed i am. especially for THREE DOLLARS a print.

just remember, when your printing, remember to turn off the "auto correction" My glamour print came out messed up cuz i was not sure how to turn it off, but they printed an other one up for me right then and there, and it came out aswesome.

im picking up my 11 X 14 portfolio book, and im using costco to fill all 48 images

BOOM SHAKALAKA

there is something your going to have to realize about scanning an image. its basically taking a photo, of a photo. Anything can be done.
sure you can go somewhere and have the photo scanned, but unless its a high quality "photo" scanner, with an operator who understands the software, you wouldnt get away with a print of decent quality the same size of the original image. so its basically making a copy photo. And thats just the scan, printing is an other story. if the scanner, and printer are not calibrated, there will be a color offset

im not saying not to try, im just trying to throw some ideas out to you so you can understand whats going on.

but as i said, if you do go to the right place, it can be done, but it will cost a little
