Maaco reviews

Hey guys, I just wanted to get a feel for the local Maaco bodyshops. I am well aware of the maaco 'specials' But some are good and some are just horrible. What kind of work do they do? Doing a quick search netted me 10+ results on yahoo for the local chicagoland area maaco bodyshops. I would be interested in Maaco reviews. I only want the best for my car and perhaps Maaco is the right choice. Anyways, please give me a short review of Maaco.

I'm not getting my car painted from there, I know its not usually recomended but I just want to know if there is a preference of one maaco over another? Thanks for the help guys..

Paintjobs from them look okay, not spectacular. They don't remove trims, lamps, etc. but do good enough job masking them. I had rust repair done on the quarter panels. and what a surprise the rust is coming back this winter.

This was done at the Lisle location off Ogden. People there are pretty nice IIRC.

If you do the prep work yourself (sanding and filling), as well as take off the parts you don't want painted the outcome can be pretty good for the price.

Most maacos do crappy prepwork so the paint starts chipping off a year or two later.
