| Looks like I'll have to make the trip north a few times. I like that lot. Altough Melrose Park chews up my tires it's only 10 minutes away from me. Are you bringing the Miata or the STi?

| the miata isn't fully tuned yet it just got upgraded turbo. last time i took it out, i lost control twice in 5 minutes cuz well i'm not used to the damn thing yet i guess. then it died and wouldn't start up. we pushed it home, found the ecu got corrupted somehow (hydra nemesis) sent it to them, they fixed, and she's waiting in the garage. i think i'd put it into a wall at a track now too. going to try and do everything it in it this summer unless it's down, raining or a club won't let me track it since i'm taller than the roll bar. definately need to get in some autox to get used to it before i bring her to a track though !! |

| no autocross will restrict you from going based on your car. if it's a car club one they'll just put you in the not us category, ie. not bmw / not vw. miata actually has it broken up into 2, like <= 2.5 liters and > 2.5 iirc. |

| Yeah they stick 2.5L and higher along with the FI people in one class and smaller than 2.5 NA in the other. |

| also as a note no club will make you be a member to participate except bmw, and bmw does it because they have large turnouts already and couldn't accommodate a big heap of non-members on top |

| For the people who are closer to Melrose Park, CVO listed their maywood autocrosses: http://www.chicagovw.org/events/events.html

| all clubs are friendly, it's not like a big ego street/drag scene or anything. you can walk up to the fastest guy there and ask him for pointers and they will tell you straight out and try to help you get faster. bmw audi vw are all in maywood, you can go 1-2 times half the weekends this summer woowoo! |
