| Digital Camera Suggestions I have the intention of purchasing a digital camera but I have NO idea on anything about them. My family has them, and I use it, but I would like one for myself as well.
I was thinking of purchasing one from eBay since I have gift certificates for eBay.
I would be using the camera mostly for ebay pics, people pics, and some leisure pics. I have no brand preferrence, and I'm willing to spend about $200.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

| When I bought mine - I looked for one with a decent lens. That was my biggest concern because if your taking pics through a pinhole, it'll look like garbage regardless.
SO look for something with a decent lense. Thats my best suggestion. I have a sony and love it. |

| I would look into Canon and Nikon, can't go wrong with any of their products. Some of the Sonys are pretty good too, not the really low end ones thought, so check reviews before you pick one, for example the dscw55 is great little camera and in your price range too. One of their bottom end cameras is crap though.

| That's a great choice, I have an old SD400. Great little camera. The SD800IS has optical image stabilization which is a big plus.
This is sample pic from my 2 year old SD400, I shrunk the image down, they're much bigger in full resolution

| I was thinking of getting the Canon SD900 but since it's not IS, I'm going to pass on it. I'm kind of between the SD850IS and the SD800IS. Despite about a $50 price difference, the only other differences I noted was the focal length, shooting speed, and the SD800IS is 7.1mp and the SD850IS is 8.1mp.
I can get the SD800IS throught my work (target) using a 10% off coupon in addition to my employee discount (10%) for about $308.
eBay is not being cheaper by much at all; so might as well just go to the store and get it right away. |

| What do you guys think of the Samsung L77? I'm thinking of that since it has a 7x optical and 5x digital I believe. Pretty thin also to put in my pocket |

| My sister has the Canon 700 and she loves it.
According to some websites that I visited, Canon 750 was the top ranker for 7.0-7.9 mp digi cams. |

Pretty thin also to put in my pocket | It's a nice point & shoot. Some vignetting, and chromatic abberation issues, but you have that with all P&S cameras. Zoom is impressive considering how thin it is!

| ya that is why I am leaning towards it and it is not a bad price. I want something that i can put in my pocket or something that is not bulky at all. The zoom is what got my attention, where most are at 3x to 4x optical |
