WRAP THAT SHIT
One of the girls here at work was having trouble with her home computer, so she brought it in and asked me to take a look at it. 1 problem was she was getting an error every time she tried to shut down. Another issue is that she started getting out of control popups and had no idea why. After booting it up, I found she had NO antivirus, and NO spyware protection, so I went ahead and installed some...
This was the result of the initial scan:
After updating and running ad-aware, I found another 500 objects, and symantec found about 100 more as well. A couple had to be manually removed with special removal tools. Just remember, even if you think you're safe, always use protection, lol.![]()

Holy shiet!! That's insane!
Believe it or not, the laptop im currently using had no antivirus software for a whole 1-1.5 years; and no one here at home even thought about it! We had to reformat the lappy, and start all over again; it's alll good now!
My desktop has been acting weird! I'm not into computers, would anyone be willing to take a look at it and try to fix it? Let me know how much you want.
How is it acting weird? I'd be willing to take a look.

Desktop was custom built; don't really know anything about it, but can easily find out
Running XP professional
SBC/ATT yahoo! DSL Interwebby
Linksys router w/ speed booster (wrt54gs)
Linksys wireless g USB network adapter w/ speed booster
Everything was fine, all of the sudden I got this blue screen (don't remember the message), and I had to restart the pc by hand.
Internet worked on/off at times for about one week, and then all of the sudden it stopped working.
Desktop is running fine, but everytime I try to connect to the internet, it becomes soooooo slow and it never connects. I once did a ctr+alt+del, Clicked on Performance, and my CPU Usage was at 100% at all times. I can't figure out what is it when I look at the Processes.
Even though there is no internet connection with the desktop, the laptops were connecting to the Internet without a problem. I connected the desktop directly with the modem using my ethernet cable, and it would not connect to the internet. On the other hand, the laptop when connected to the modem using the ethernet cable, worked just fine.
When I talked to ATT/SBC technicians, they could not figure out what was wrong, since all the testings that they ran, came out to be ok. They sent a technician to take a look at my house, and the tech found a problem outside of the house, and he fixed the problem; not sure what the problem was. When he tested our computers, he for some reason came to the conclusion that the problem was my router.
Sounds like a hardware failure or a virus. I dunno when we'd be able to meet up, but if you wanna bring it to me, I'll be glad to take a look at it.

I'll PM you in a bit!
Next meet, i'm bringin my computer. I normally don't run any type of anti-virus software because in the past it only seems to slow things down more. But... I'm also getting an error message randomly when I shut down (just click ok and it still shuts down) so I know that my computer has some shit hiding in it.
