| Um... don't blame CNN... Blame the American public for being fucking retards and more interested in Britney Spears' whorish sister than where their tax dollars are going and how many foreigners we're killing in the process.
If you don't tell anyone what's going on... they'll believe nothing's going on. It's really that simple.

| CTV news is better but not best its only a matter of time before CNN finds out there is money to be made in pornography then maybe we'll see which porn films raked in the most money in the fourth quarter. |

| Yea. I still know that the musical Aquarius was a huge scandal because there were naked people shown public. I think America is a little homophobic - there is no such thing as a sight barrier between German Urinals.... =]

| I don't recall ever seeing nudity on American TV. There is a rating system for tv shows, though, and parents can use some Parental Controls on their TV to, say, only allow their kids to watch G-Rated shows, or PG, etc. Quote:

My bf said he WOULD use the bathrooms, but I know he is a bit uncomfortable around gay men because he thinks they're always going to hit on him.

| i have no problem with men hitting on me since i have the power to say no to them but i wouldn't shower with one of them thats for sure.
on canadian showcase channel during the 90's that was notorious for showing independant films with naked people on the screen but the religious right got really upset about the kids watching it and since then theyve been showing like alot of B-list movies with no nudity.
on one of the quebec stations there was a show that ran from 12pm to 3am called bleu nuit and it was soft core porn every saturday. |

| Well, of course anyone should have the power to say "no" to an unwelcome advance. He wouldn't have a problem saying "no."
I've seen more straight males be more homophobic than perhaps straight females, though. I don't know where that comes from.
The only softcore porn we've had is on cable, I think: stations like ShowTime or Cinemax I remember (back in the day) used to show female frontal. I don't think ANY station (unless it's a Pay-Per-View maybe?) shows male frontal. |

| Haha. Very nice discussion turn :P.
I am going to the gym for almost 3 years now. Showering is always naked in Germany, it's the same as Sauna. If I see someone in bathing trunks then it's almost certain that it is an American or Britain. I always ask to make sure and no, that are no prejudices. I respect that Americans and Britains feel uncomfortable.
I am neither gay or bi but I must say that I have deep respect for homosexuals in an homophobic world like this. The guy that deciphered Enigma (german encryption machine out of WW2, they were then able to find german subs easily) had to take estrogens. That was a law in the UK till 1965. The consequences of his unwanted estrogen therapy were fatal.
German Cologne is known as town of homosexuals. I have been there last year and you really see a lot of couples running around hand in hand. The leaders of Hamburg's and Berlin's both are gay and that is no problem anymore.
Shemales? Huh, hmm, never thought about that lol.
Yea, we have soft core porns starting from 10 pm +

| I've never understood how nudity came to be such an issue. You'd think the religious right wing would be pro-nudity since Adam & Eve were nude with no problem until the Devil taught them shame. No, I don't expect to see people walk down the street nude but if some were nude in the same places they presently wear bathing suits I just don't see how that harms anyone. Sure, some people you don't want to see naked but those are the same people you don't want to see in skimpy suits either and for the most part (not always) they do tend to stay covered up with something more flattering to them. Nudity should be no big deal. It's the human body. Get a grip.
Having said that I must say that while I agree that there's nothing wrong with nudity and it's not automatically sexual and there is nothing wrong with people being nudists or nudism in general the idea that people would go out of their way, travel great distances, pay admission fees to clubs and so forth just so they can be naked around other naked people also stikes me as a little odd and contradicts my premise that it should be no big deal. If it's no big deal then one doesn't go to great lengths to do something.
Many years (and two vehicles) ago I went up to Mazo Beach west of Madison, WI which is a nude beach on the river there. Just wanted to check it out. Yes, while there I got nekkid. Frankly, I was bored with it. OK, I'll admit it was a bit amusing when some girls got on a trampoline just around the time I was leaving. As I recall the highlight of my visit was stopping at a Culvers (fast food) which had not yet made it to the Chicago area where I am from.
Oh yeah, one more thing. How did the (developed female) breast ever get caught up in this phobia about nudity? We are really one perverse, sick society. There is no such thing as a "naughty bit" and definitely not breasts. |

| Not sure. But yea I agree with you.
The nudity and homophobia started establishing when the church established. Before that people were still sitting 6 by 6 in a toilette without any barriers. In China that is still a habit in some areas.
