Old school vets

Of the board, where are you? Check in..

I come on here every so often and I barely see any of the old CV people around anymore or at least any that post. There's a few that are moderators still, so I know you guys are around. How's everything been?

Most the old schoolers pretty much vanished sadly, I think I am one of the few that checks in and posts from time to time. Cv was great when we had all the post whores and the meets. To bad it died out.

It's about time somebody posted. I think you're right. All the old members have disappeared..sad. I miss the old school hooters and pavilion meets. Shit, I even miss the old days at Barrington & Irving.

An old-schooler checking in.

I miss those meets too. I wish we could get an "old schooler" meet together, just for old time's sake.

Would be hard unless they check in every so often to see whats going on in here. I troll this place at least once a month. But its like a ghost town.

Even tho my means for transportation are slim, it would be nice to go to a hooters or tavern meet again. I'm craving me some chicken wings :-p

lol I check in when I remember to, but I'm around. Not into cars as much as I use to, so I would get together for fun times.

Yeah, I'd be up for fun times.

I think a lot of us "older" crew have leaned towards other life priorities (paying for college, getting full-time jobs, purchasing real estate, etc.), so the extra $ isn't around to put into 4-wheeled money pits.

I wish I had a 4 wheeled money pit. I'm tired of public transit.

This place was Epic. Huge meets every friday night in Elk Grove and elsewhere. It was pretty cool.

Now it's dead....poor CV. I guess nothing lasts forever.

Just a new persons observation.Whats everybody crying about? If your into cars, and like hanging out with other people with similiar interests, thats great. For awhile.....?Then what?I think you need to be commited to whatever flicks your bick.To me,it means you seek out others that might be into the same particular vehicle, type of racing,or events that you dig.Maybe building up or restoring a old Datsun or Honda and posting your progress online for others to see,and thinking maybe I can go check out that persons project.Maybe even helping them out with your skills or abilities. You never know, yeah you might get the lone wolf once in a while. But most people like letting others see what they can do or are interested in.If Chicago Velocity is really a auto related arena, theres has to be hundreds of carcaine addicts like myself that are interested in high performance auto's.Regardless if it's a rice burner, musclecar, street rod or whatever.
If you want to just sit in a parking lot, drink beer at a bar ,eat hot wings on a curb, thats fine.I don't see the car connection. The car is the common denominater, but the people are the catalsy (spell?)Just my 2 cents.
Have a nice day. Rich

I'm also "kind of" a vet, but I also got here a little after Eric. Its def. changed a lot already since I felt this board. I remember all the flaming with James being here.

I'm still seeing reggie on some boards and acouple other members that used to be on here. And I now have a TSi .

For some reason I decided to log in today

My brother used to come on here alooong time ago too, but hes now out of the game too. He used to have the only turbo'd v6 avenger and now has a sexy g35.

Anyhow, its nice to see that the site is at least still here even though it does look a little dead, but then again I havnt been on here for a while.
