Adam your making no sense. You and a 240sx with a swap is the dumbest thing iv'e ever heard. You'd kill yourself, keep your car. Trust me, you wouldn't be able to handle a rear-wheel drive car with that much power! There not good for dragging either with all that HP. Keep your car, I don't think your thinking abou this. Use your head. I'm not trying to be rude, your my homie but I can't imagine many of us are going to agree with you.

rwd is better for everything except for people who can't drive. rwd gives you better cornering traction. and rear tires is where the car's weight goes when you drag![]()

i say keep the wrx. just save money down the road. besides, awd launch on the streets is always nice and it can still handle rather well on a twisty road.
if u do the 240/RB thing then the weight dist. would be seriously off and all you can do well is drag.
if you like the idea of having it go for it. i just dont think i'd personally do it just to say "ive got a bi-turbo 240"
well, good luck with your decision.

if you want a drag car or burnouts, don't waste a 240 for that.. 240s are capable of so much more than little stuff like that.
if you want total feedback from the road, and a lightweight fully customizable chassis (w/o the rice), get a 240, little else can compare.

uhm, am i the only 1 who thinks the rb26 swap would unbalance the car?
to risk having a bandwagon jumper (not anyone in particular) take interest in the 240, the answer is kinda, not really, its been done and people haven't had problems, just lost alot of its nimbleness... i have no clue about winter driving with it tho..
some people have talked about v8s in 240s, and there is actually a 95 running a 95 5.7L chevy lt-1 but that seriously fucks up everything![]()

unless you are going to convert the 240 to RHD, an RB26DETT is not going to fit. the twin turbo setup gets in the way of the steering column on the lhd 240sx's. if you lived in japan and had a 180sx or a silvia, sure, an rb26dett swap would be feasable, plus they make most of the parts for the swap over there. so far in the states all that has been done is RB20 and RB25 swaps. RB25 being fewer than the RB20 swaps. If you're serious and want to dive into something you obviosly know nothing about, your first start would be to contact mckinney motorsports in california. they did the first rb25 swap in america and are working on making the rb26 fit. so far they haven't had much luck.
also keep in mind you'll be buying a 5-14 y/o car depending on what year you get. and most s13's are going to need all new suspension componets....which gets expensive. also hks makes a special drag setup coilovers for the s13. those might not be available in america tho.
there is a cherry red pearl s13 with an lt1 in it too.Originally posted by flip240

welcome back charles!
the 240 is another mechanic car like a dsm, there are alot of quirks and things to make it a serious street machine, and it's not really for people who like showing off.

personally i think that all wheel drive is awesome
Just being able to call everyone else a bandwagon jumper if they happen to look at your ride = worth getting a 240sx.
But you need to watch out for those CURBS that jump out from nowhere -coughcough-
PM me if you still haven't made up your mind and want some honest advice.![]()
