    Nissan Skyline...new car help!

Alright...I havent thought much about this yet, but my dad wanted me to part with my WRX before the warranty was up. Here's my options...I could either:

    A- keep the WRX

    B- get a 240sx and do an sr20DET swap

C- get a 240sx and do an RB26DETT (nissan skyline engine) with the money I have left over.

If I get a 240 and swap out the engine, either way I'll have some modding money to go into it as well. The thing is that I love the WRX and I have like no money to work on it until my new job starts. I've got about 10k miles to decide.

The thing about the WRX is that i love it....yet a 240 rockin' twinturbo's would be amazing. I could make that thing fast as fizuck, but it doesnt have the class/bling factor that a WRX can have.

Personally, I'd go 240, but if you love your car keep it. Are you the only one who's ever owned your car? If so definitely keep it, because you don't want someone elses problems(trust me on this one).

I'd say go with the 240sx with that sr20det swap....Going with the Rb26dett engine is going to take a lot of work.....I'm not saying it can't be done...cuz its been done before...its just that if you could afford down time and find a place that does good work. Its going to take some body work to do it cause the motor mounts of the 240sx is different to the RB series. You might have better luck dropping in a rb25 or rb24. Since they are a tad bit smaller. Good Luck on you decision.

We've got a place that does excellent work... especially on this kind of thing. And the RB25 isn't that much smaller... its 0.1 L less displacement but the block is roughly the same size

I could feasable crank the 240 to around 500HP within a year.

What's YOUR priority on a car?... then go from there.

Don't look so much on the facts of the present time, think ahead and see anything that could become a cost in years to come about something that you decide to do with your car and etc.

are you gonna drag? 240s are horrible drag cars....... no traction, for drift reasons of course

Hahaha, drifting's cool...but dragging is a top priority. Hopefully if I do wind up with the 240 I can make a daily-driver show car outa it. I was gonna do that with my WRX but its too much fucking money per performance part. If I got the 240 I'd need slicks

So your saying you are going to get rid of a car that still has warranty right now for a car with no warranty and do a motor swap with it? What's wrong the with the WRX?

You can...but I have a very small income. See, if I sell the WRX i can get the engine swap right away, new trans, and the 240 itself. I'd probably still have a little over a grand or 2 left over to do some work to it. It would be faster than I can get my WRX in 2 years from now.

keep the wrx, nicer car, you might be dissappointed with the 240 if you don't do your own work.

but if you do go that route, there's tons of sr20 guys in the area to help you out with your swap, all the rb swaps are in cali (most of them are rb26) and 5 or 6 turbo ka24 in west burbs alone....

also, no thanks to ricer kids and magazines, sr20 swaps on the rise, so take note of that.
