Director of Student Life, Rabbinical School
The Rabbinical School of 永利国际app is seeking a Director of Student Life to join our faculty in a half-time role. This is an exciting opportunity to help educate future rabbis while cultivating a vibrant and supportive student community.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a rabbinic presence for students, providing guidance and support throughout their personal and professional development.
- Foster and oversee communal engagement and co-curricular programs to facilitate meaningful connections and learning opportunities beyond the classroom. These include student orientation and Shabbatonim, weekly communal gatherings, and student advising program.
As a faculty member, the Director will also:
- Teach one course per semester in their area of expertise.
- Advise students and support their academic and spiritual growth.
- Participate fully in the life and work of the faculty.

- Strong interpersonal skills and a warm pastoral presence.

Shul Lunch Cooperative Coordinate (Contract Position)
About the Shul Lunch Coop
The Shul Lunch Cooperative at 永利国际app is developing a spiritually rich model for Jewish community food practice 鈥 one which centers human relationships with pleasure, one another, the earth, and Hashem. We hope this model will be both an inspiration and a source of tangible and actionable knowledge for developing nourishing, earth and people-centered communities broadly.
About the Coordinator Position
Two Coordinators will plan for the preparation and delivery of meals for Shul Lunch Coop members, during 永利国际app鈥檚 academic year, including the management of all member- facing aspects. Coordinators will coordinate all of the day-to-day communications and logistics associated with interfacing among Coop Membership, 永利国际app, Partner Organizations, and the Coop Strategic Committee 鈥 to sensitively and creatively address and source solutions to challenges as they arise.
Coordinators will also develop and improve systems that will support the Coop鈥檚 operation.
Responsibilities

- Plan for when, during the school year, meals will be served to Coop members.
- Coordinate with 永利国际app Departments, and other non-College organizations, for when the Coop will cater meals.
- Oversee weekly meal creation, including the development of menus, development of weekly shopping lists for ingredient purchases, safe storage of ingredients/food, and the scheduling of members who will be involved in shopping, cooking, setup, and cleanup.
- Be available for 鈥渞oshing鈥 (leading) one cooking shift, every other Sunday.
- Ensure that work schedules are covered and shared equitably across the
membership.
- Report to 永利国际app鈥檚 Director of Student Services.
- Develop the Coop鈥檚 annual budget with 永利国际app鈥檚 Director of Student Services.
- Communicate and ensure strong channels of communication between the Coop Strategic Committee, 永利国际app, Partner Organizations, and Membership.
- In particular, coordinate with 永利国际app鈥檚 Events & Logistics Coordinator/Receptionist to reserve kitchen and dining space and avoid conflicts. This includes the possibility Coop food preparation will need to be rescheduled or cancelled if renters and/or caterers will be using the kitchen.
- In addition, coordinate with the Director of Facilities to coordinate satisfactory clean-up after food prep and meals.
- Project fundraising goals, plan for and execute annual fundraising campaign
- Could include direct requests for donations, the sale of Coop merchandise, or other methods of revenue generation.
- Lead Membership meetings.
- Foster and support the leadership, ownership, growth, and meaningful impact of Coop membership and Committees.
- Operate and improve systems that support the safe, joyful, meaningful, and ethical preparation of meals at 1860 Washington Street.
- Communicate with, and create a sense of belonging and meaning among larger Coop community (donors, partners) on a regular basis directly, through newsletters, and through social media
- Further develop ritual, prayerful, and meaning-making aspects of Coop program
- Be available for daily operational support and trouble-shooting
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and bottom-line kitchen operations.
- Strong and demonstrated interest in the potential for systems and cooperative models to create meaningful contexts for spiritual growth and engagement.
- Servsafe certified (may receive certification after hiring).
Compensation and Hours
The Lunch Coop will be contracting with two Coordinators for the 2025-26 academic year, with 20 hours of training in April of 2025 (specific timing to be arranged) and approximately 10 hours/week from early August 2025 through to mid-May of 2026. Each Coordinator will be expected to work a monthly membership work shift in addition to the time spent on Coordinator
duties.- Pay for April 2025 training (20 hours x $32/hour = $640) distributed in May.
- Total pay for 2025-26 academic year of $12,960 (represents $32 per hour, ten hours per week, and 4.5 weeks per month over nine months).
- To be paid monthly in 9 installments of $1,440, between September 2025 thru May of 2026.
